AECP – Seasonal Scene Building

This is the last project in my Altenew Educator Certification Program for Level 1.  This class focused on Seasonal Scene Building and I have to say this card is very much out of my normal style of card making.  I do not have any stamps that were scene specific so I had to dig deep to come up with a concept for a scene.  This is a very abstract card but I had fun even though I found this to be the most challenging card I made in Level 1.

That being said, I had Altenew's Narrow Brick Stencil and decided I would use that for a building and go from there.

  1. On an A2 card base I used Altenew's Crimson and Velvet inks and blended the colors over the Narrow Brick Stencil to create a brick building.
  2. For the grey building I used washi tape to create the building outline and used ink blending with Moon Rock ink.
  3. I constructed the roofs of the 2 buildings with the smooth back side of the dotted triangle in the Altenew Dot Art Stamp Set, one in grey and the other in jet black.  I then layered the dotted triangle stamp in jet black ink over the grey triangle.
  4. I drew the windows and doors on the buildings freehand and then used Maple Yellow Alcohol Marker for the lights in the windows and the sunshine.   I also free handed the sunshine with the same marker.\
  5. For the clouds I took a piece of card stock and cut a scalloped edge on one side, I then randomly placed the stencil on the card based and blended Eastern Sky Crisp Dye Ink to make clouds.
  6. For the trees, I used 2 of the flower layering stamps from Altenew's Build a Flower: Lavender Stamp Set with Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Dye Ink.  The tree on the right was made using Altenew's Fragile Foliage Stamp Set with Forest Glades ink as well.
  7. Lastly, I stamped the Sending Hugs sentiment from the Build a Flower: Lavender Stamp Set onto 80 lb. card stock and attached it with adhesive foam tape.

I am looking forward to finding out what my Level 1 Final Project will be.  Until next time…Happy Crafting!!
